Frequently asked enrichment questions include:

How does Checkmate Enrichment work?

Merchants install the Checkmate pixel tag through its Shopify Extension or Google Tag Manager. This pixel tag operates similarly to any third party advertising pixel that can retrieve unique device or user metadata, and place a cookie, or reference an existing cookie, on visitors' browsers to remember them with future visits to other websites. Once the pixel tag is enabled on a merchant website, Checkmate can synchronize collected information with the following steps;

  1. Identify an existing participant in the Checkmate network through a cookie or matching IP address.
  2. Place a new cookie, or utilize unique device or browser metadata, in order to identify the visitor in the future on other merchant or publisher websites.
  3. Synchronize the visitors IP address with third party data in order to match to a known email address for Checkmate or the Merchant to use for email marketing to the visitor.

What counts as a resolution?

A “resolution” is when Checkmate identifies a previously anonymous user and adds/identifies them to your CRM that Klaviyo or Shopify does not identify.

A net-new customer is added as a new contact, whereas a maintained identity is an existing profile that is identified for the CRM.

Does Enrichment work with CRMs other than Klaviyo?

Yes - while Klaviyo is our most common integration, we also support custom CRM setups. Let us know what you’re using, and we’ll guide you through it.
