Setup Checklist

Use this list to ensure your brand is fully onboarded and ready to launch:


1. Install the Checkmate Shopify App

Head to the Shopify App Store and install the Checkmate app. 

2.  Accept Required Permissions

You’ll be prompted to review and install the necessary scopes for the app. Click “Install” this grants Checkmate the access it needs to run properly.

3. Complete onboarding flow

Click the Installation menu.

Follow the onboarding flow to enter all your details. 

4. Add your Marketing Contact

5. Add Your Technical Contact

6. Set Up Your Pixel

The Checkmate Pixel lets us identify site visitors, track high-intent actions, and power personalized enrichment and targeting (if enabled). It's essential for syncing data to your CRM and unlocking campaign performance.

Note - You only need to complete either step 3 or step 4. While it’s possible to use just one method, using both ensures maximum accuracy and reliability.GTM is recommended if you're using a custom Shopify theme or are running a HEADLESS setup. We recommend setting up both Google Tag Manager (GTM) and the embedded code for the best tracking coverage.


7. Klaviyo Integration

This step is important because for Enrichment, it allows Checkmate to directly add enriched customer data to your CRM. For Targeting, it enables Checkmate to ensure incrementality.

  • Set the Private API Key to Checkmate
  • Set Access Level to Full Access

8.  Add Your Payment Method (For Enrichment)

To activate your 14 day free trial of the Enrichment product, add your billing info through the link we emailed. If you didn’t get it, reach out to support@joincheckmate.com.

9.  Book an Onboarding Call

Once the above is complete, we recommend booking an onboarding call  to:

  • Review new CRM segments and flow opportunities
  • Explore partner deals (if using Targeting)
  • Answer any integration or strategy questions

Tip

You don’t need to activate all three products at once. We recommend starting with Enrichment or Targeting (whichever aligns with your current goals), then layering in Audiences once you’re ready to collect more granular insights about your shoppers.
