Enrichment Post Onboarding Checklist

Use this list to ensure your Klaviyo flows are optimized and ready to launch with Checkmate Enrichment.

1. Create Your Core Flows (4–8 Minimum)

For a full list of enrichment events, please visit the Checkmate Enrichment Events Guide.

For details on how to create enrichment flows, please visit Creating Enrichment Flows.

To maximize performance, set up at least 4–8 automated Klaviyo flows triggered by Checkmate Enrichment events.

Recommended starting flows include:

  • Browse Abandonment (trigger: Product Viewed [Checkmate] or Collection Viewed [Checkmate])
  • Cart Abandonment (trigger: Product Added to Cart [Checkmate])
  • Checkout Abandonment (trigger: Checkout Started [Checkmate])
  • Post-Purchase Thank You / Review Request (trigger: Checkout Completed [Checkmate])
  • Price Drop or Back-in-Stock Notifications (trigger: Product Viewed [Checkmate])

These flows ensure you’re engaging shoppers at key points in their journey - from first interest to purchase follow-up.

2. Craft Clear, Compelling Emails

Each email in your flows should include:

  • A clear CTA (e.g., Shop Now, Complete Your Order, Claim Your Discount)
  • Discount in the subject line for incentive-based flows (“Get 20% Off - Your Cart is Waiting”)
  • Persuasive copy that reinforces urgency (“Your favorite item is almost gone”) and value (“Save $20 when you spend $100”).

3. Follow Klaviyo Best Practices for Timing & Frequency

Set wait times and touch points based on industry benchmarks:

  • Browse Abandonment → 30–60 minutes after the event, with 1–2 follow-up emails within 12–24 hours

  • Cart Abandonment → 1 hour after the event, then follow-ups at 12 hours and optionally 36 hours

  • Checkout Abandonment → 30 minutes after the event, then follow-ups at 12 hours, 24 hours, and optionally 48 hours

  • Post-Purchase → Immediate confirmation, shipping confirmation as triggered, then review/upsell emails at 5–10 days

This balance prevents over-emailing while keeping your brand top of mind.

4. Offer Competitive Discounts (and Test Them)

Ensure your offer stands out - but isn’t negated by an existing site-wide sale or intro offer.

Run A/B tests in Klaviyo to see which discount format drives better conversion:

  • $20 Off $100 (threshold-based)
  • 20% Off (percentage-based)

Monitor results to optimize performance.

5. Track Key Metrics in Klaviyo

Monitor:

  • CTR (Click-Through Rate) – Are shoppers engaging with your content?
  • Open Rate – Is your subject line and sender name compelling?
  • # of Emails Sent – Are flows triggering as expected?

If a metric dips, check your targeting, subject lines, and creative.

6. Use the Checkmate Dashboard for Deeper Insights

Refer to your Checkmate Dashboard for a detailed view of how your flows are performing.

Your dashboard includes:

  • Overall performance metrics – total Checkmate attributable sales, orders attributed to flows enriched by Checkmate, number of enriched customers, emails added to your CRM, Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), and customer acquisition cost (CAC).
  • Flow-by-flow breakdown – revenue, average order value (AOV), and total orders for each live flow using Checkmate triggers
  • Attribution insights – see which flows drive the most revenue and engagement.

Please visit Understanding the Enrichment Dashboard to learn more.

Pro Tip: Once your initial flows are live, revisit them every ~4 weeks to refresh creative, rotate offers, and refine triggers based on new behavior data.
